avant-window-navigator - Google Code

Here is a great looking docking bar that is very similar to the Mac. Have not tried it yet but it looks promising

wn uses libwnck to keep a track of open windows, and behaves exactly like a normal window-list :

* Clicking an icon switches to that window, clicking again will minimise the window
* Right-clicking will bring up a menu extactly like that of what you see on the window-list, allowing you to max, min, close, resize etc the window.
* Dragging something on top of an icon will activate that window.
* Visually (and quite attractively) responds to ‘needs attention’ & ‘urgent’ events
* Can show windows from the entire viewport, or just the visible viewport.

Tilda is a Linux terminal taking after the likeness of many classic terminals from first person shooter games, Quake, Doom and Half-Life (to name a few), where the terminal has no border and is hidden from the desktop until a key is pressed.

This is probably the most useful utility I have come across in a long time

This might be the beginning of a new trend of OEM to offer alternatives to Microsoft. This will be good for the consumer in both having options and having competition again among the Operating System Developers
