Backup & Restore Linux and AIX Images without Identical Hardware Requirements

by

storixStorix Inc [here] has introduced a new software that lets customers back up, migrate and provision new Linux and AIX systems. Storix System Backup Administrator (SBAdmin) is a feature-rich AIX and Linux based Backup and Disaster Recovery application, which provides an easy to use graphical user interface for centralized management of system and data backup. SBAdmin is available for standalone systems, or as a network administrator used to manage backups and restores across the network.

SBAdmin both backups data files to a network server as well as provides the ability to reinstall a complete system from scratch while providing the flexibility needed to restore the backup onto a different hardware environment thus removing the requirement to restore backup images to only identical hardware and migrate images between physical servers and virtual servers and be used to perform system recoveries from servers that have failed or lost their system settings.

SBAdmin also provides bare metal restore capability for failed or new systems. The restore process of SBAdmin takes the backup and adapts it to the hardware detected during installation, rebuilding the failed system to its prior state.

The SBAdmin demo is available [here].
